The MakerMask: Surge Nonwoven Polypropylene Mask

Choose one of the open source mask designs below and follow the link for detailed mask sewing instructions. These masks are designed to be washable and breathable and include water-resistant spunbond nonwoven polypropylene (NWPP) layers.

MakerMask: N95 Cover Instructions

The MakerMask:Cover is a single layer NWPP cover designed to be worn over an N95 to reduce external contamination and prolong the use of commercially available N95 masks. Click here for more science on the MakerMask: Cover.

MakerMask: Origami Instrucciones

The MakerMask: Origami (Beta) is designed as a stand-alone fitted mask with a number of features to improve accessibility. This mask is constructed without any seams in the central mask area and creates a 3-D shape around the face that gives extra space around the mouth and nose.

MakerMask: Expression Instrucciones

The MakerMask: Expression (Beta) is designed as a stand-alone fitted mask with a clear “window” to improve accessibility and a no-sew design that uses heat-sealed seams to eliminate needle holes in the central mask area and around the “window”. Click here for more science on “window masks”.

The MakerMask: Fit (Beta) is designed as a multi-layer fitted standalone mask. Optimal layering combinations are still under investigation. Awaiting final testing.

MakerMask: Surge (Oleada) Instrucciones

The MakerMask:Surge is pleated mask constructed from 3-layers of NWPP. It is designed as a stand alone mask and is optimized for ease of construction by home sewists.
